GGUSD Student Earns Top Spot in OC Poetry Out Loud Competition
Friday, March 18, 2022La Quinta High School Student Emily Dang earned second place in the county level of the National 2022 Poetry Out Loud competition which had more than 500 students participating. This week, Marcus Omari from Poetic Reform Party and Elizabeth AB Miller, the Program manager for Arts Orange County visited La Quinta to present Emily with an award in recognition of her second-place win.
Santiago High School Student Recognized as Youth of the Year
Friday, March 18, 2022During a virtual ceremony on March 4, Santiago High School student Hazel Coronado was named the Orange County Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year, a recognition that awarded her a $5,000 college scholarship. Coronado is the school’s Senior Class President and has been a member of Boys and Girls Club for 11 years.
